The Community Centre Board, is a sub-committee of the Council of Frontenac Islands and operates and maintains the Community Centre grounds located at56 Victoria Street on the south side of the village of Marysville. All
members of the Community Centre board are volunteers within the community.
The board is very active throughout the year, operating barbeques and other
community functions which allow us the ability to raise funds for the
continuing expansion of the Community Centre grounds to run programs for all
ages, and its maintenance and general up-keep.

The Community Centre grounds consist of; two (2) lighted baseball diamonds, a children's playground, horse ring and in 2009, due to the generosity of Don Cherry, the construction crews building the wind farm, local businesses, and many local and enthusiastic volunteers, an ice pad, complete with boards and in floor refrigeration capabilities was constructed.
In 2011, with the support of the Council of Frontenac Islands, significant dollar donations from Island residents, both full time and part-time, and grants from Ontario Hydro and Frontenac County Futures Development Corporation, a refrigeration system was installed plowing-2011-005-again.gif>.100_0133-hockey-rink--2.gif
and a building to house it and an ice resurfacer was constructed. The winter of 2011-2012 saw our first full season with a permanent ice surface in place for the communityIn March of 2012, with again, the generosity of the Frontenac County Futures
Development Corporation, we were fortunate to receive a grant to assist us
in the purchase of an Olympia ice resurfacer. The Community Centre Board had a very successful first full season of rink operation. Several programs, 'learn to skate' for both children and adults,a mixed adult hockey league, and a mixed broomball league. All extremelysuccessful and all done with volunteers. Now that we have our 'feet wet', we are hoping to expand the programs already in place and to run new programs for the next season.

At present, the board is working towards a goal of installing a roof over
the ice pad to lessen the effects of Mother Nature and give us the
opportunity to use the ice pad through the other three seasons for special
events and activities.
