Frontenac County is made up of 4 townships. Frontenac Islands is one of them!

1.Following the resignation of South Frontenac Mayor Gary Davison,as Warden Mayor of South Frontenac, offered his resignation as Warden, Central Frontenac Mayor Janet Gutowski (County Council member since 2006) was re-elected as Warden Dec. 14th. Her initial term was in 2009. At the same time, our own Frontenac Islands Mayor Denis Doyle accepted the role and responsibilities of Deputy Warden.

2. Frontenac County’s introduction of web-based meeting management software, eAgenda, will offer a number of advantages to County Council, staff and residents. As well as saving paper (internal/external meetings etc)County residents will appreciate the software for its search functionality. Users simply type in a word or phrase and all results will be returned, allowing ease in locating required references. .

3. Frontenac County is part of (EORN) Eastern Ontario's Regional Broadband Network Project. EORN recently completed its first (of 15 areas) local wireless broadband network, expanding high-speed Internet coverage to 8,000 residents and businesses in the southern half of the United Counties of Prescott & Russell. It is expected that residents in Eastern Ontario will receive high-speed Internet by the end of December 2013.

4. Medics (Med Techs) stationed at CFB Kingston are once again riding along with Frontenac County Paramedics. The County has had a role in CFBKingston's Medic training for many years, allowing them the opportunity to gain additional medical experience prior to deployment. The ride along program was on hold for awhile, as newly trained medics were required for active duty and were deployed directly following the completion of their initial qualification level training.
