County Official Plan Meetings

Frontenac County Official Plan (OP) open houses are being held in each Township to gather input from the community in order to begin the process of putting together a draft for the County of Frontenac’s first ever OP. All those interested in the future of the County of Frontenac are encouraged to attend a session and discuss the regional issues facing our area now and in years to come.
The OP could include policies that address a number of regional issues throughout the County of Frontenac. Discussions at the open houses will focus on which of those issues the OP should emphasize and which issues it need not focus on.

Wednesday, September 5th
Wolfe Island Town Hall, 1191 Road 96
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, September 6th,
Howe Island Office, 55 Baseline Road
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m
.

The OP was identified as a priority in both the County’s Integrated Community Sustainability Plan, Directions for Our Future, and in the set of Strategic Priorities that County Council adopted in 2011. Joe Gallivan, Manager of Sustainability Planning, is leading the project and aims to have final Council approval in 2014. For more on the OP, visit www.frontenaccounty.ca.
