The Wolfe Island Ferry operates from the Marysville Dock (summer) from ICE OUT to ICE IN at which time it moves to the Dawson Point Dock (winter). Low water conditions in the village can cause an earlier departure of the ferry to the winter dock.

The ferry serves as a vital life-line to the Island's long established community. It also services the many thousands of people visiting Wolfe Island and coming from the States in to Canada

Ferrying to the Island has a long history. In 1904, Wolfe Island bought the original Wolfe Islander; in 1946, the Ontario government bought the Wolfe Islander II and in 1964, the province assumed ferry control and initiated free highway access.

Information

Avoid the long line-ups at Customs and make this your route of choice to cross the border as there is rarely more than a 10 minute wait for US or Canadian Customs here.

This is a great way for bicycles motor bikes and families with children to cross because of the beautiful scenery and short waits.

If you are planning a day trip from the US to Kingston, this is the ideal way to go!
The Wolfe Islander III, (The second leg of the two ferry crossing) lands right in downtown Kingston so you can leave the car on Wolfe Island (Free parking) and walk on to the ferry. This way you avoid the hassles of a car while you are trying to enjoy the sights and sounds of Kingston. When you want to come home you merely walk down to the ferry and get on. No line-ups!
