The Festival will be held Aug 8th and 9th 2008

Scene of the Crime Festival
The Wolfe Island 6th Annual
Scene of the Crime Festival
will be held
Saturday, August 9th
Canada’s top mystery writers and readers’ unite on the island, where Canada’s first crime writer Grant Allen was born and raised, for a full day of programs, panels, the ever-popular short story contest and a brand new writing workshop.
The Grant Allen Award will be presented to New York Times bestselling author Joy Fielding, a native of Toronto. Filled with complex, three-dimensional characters, novels such as See Jane Run, Don’t Cry Now, The Deep End, The Other Woman, Mad River Road and her latest, Heartstopper have been a real inspiration to Canadian crime writers. The goals of Canadian Championships Qrganization include preserving the art and skill of match plowing in Canada by advancing and teaching the skills involved, promoting the safe and efficient use of farm machinery as well as to organize and conduct annual Canadian Championship Plowing Contests encourage provincial plowing organizations, to organize contests and preserve the art of match plowing.
