2006 Wolfe Island Plowing Match
The annual Wolfe Island Plowing Match takes place on:
Saturday Sept. 9, 2006
on the Harry Posthumus Farm, 8th line Road.
at 10 a.m.
Awards will be presented on site following the match.
Traditional, horse and antique plowmen will participate and
Farm machinery will be on display.
WINNER’S TROPHIES are donated by businesses, industries and the W.I. Plowmen’s Association.

Wolfe Island Seniors' Day at Big Sandy Bay
The Friends of Big Sandy Bay are pleased to host
Seniors’ Day at Big Sandy Bay
Tuesday September 12th
(Rain date Wednesday September 13th )
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Members of the Friends of Big Sandy Bay will be on hand to explain the improvements that have been made to date at the reception area and take you on a guided tour along the trail to the beach.
Transportation along the 1.3 km. trail to the beach will be provided.
If you haven’t been able to walk in – this is your opportunity to see this beautiful area. Seating will be available on the beach.

HOWE ISLAND TERRY FOX RUN
Howe Island Terry Fox Run

Registration 7:30-10:30 am at the large ferry parking lot
Join with your family, friends and community for the first annual Howe Island Terry Fox Run in support of cancer research. Our Howe Island route will be from ferry to ferry, with refreshment and rest stations at the Ball Park and the Church Hall.

Run, walk, bike, skip or jump the entire route or just a portion. Whatever your preference, join us for this enjoyable day of exercise, fresh air and friendship.
Pick up your pledge sheets as soon as possible from any of the following locations: Township Office, Library, St. Philomena s Church, Pat s VEGGIES Stand, Ellerton s Apple Orchard on Spithead Rd, and The Udder-D-Lite. Pledges can also be made online at < www.terryfox.org> — be sure to donate to the Howe Island site.
Limited parking is available at the large ferry lot, and participants from off-island are encouraged to leave their vehicles on the mainland. Return shuttle service from the end of the route will be available.

An opportunity for the religious education of our young will be provided by
the Anglican Parish of Wolfe Island
When: Sunday mornings at 9:15 beginning September 17th, 24th (time may change in October)
Format: Attend the opening of the liturgy, followed by 30 minutes of learning using an approved curriculum and an opportunity to receive Holy Communion

Wolfe Island Schools Annual Terry Fox Run-Walk
Marysville Public School &
Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School
will hold their annual
2006 Terry Fox Run- Walk
for Cancer Research
on Friday September 29th
beginning at 11 a.m.
at Marysville Public School.
The younger children will run-walk 1km
The older children will run or walk 5 km
Following the Terry Fox event, a Barbecue for both schools
will be held at Marysville Public School.
Come out to watch the youngsters in action.
Volunteer to help at the Barbecue.
