“United Under God’s Tent”
hosted by the Sacred Heart of Mary CWL
Everyone Welcome
The Annual World Day of Prayer service is written each year by women of a different country. In 2007 the women of Paraguay have called us to join together under God’s tent in worship. Paraguay is a country of industrious women who make anduti lace, a fabric which is like a spider-web of different designs, in many separate parts which are joined together to form one whole . This lace symbolizes the community of Paraguay and of the world.
The service begins with this reflection: “It is wonderful to know that as we bow our heads in prayer, we will feel the presence of God over us as though it were an immense cloak which covers all. We know that we are united together under God’s protection with all the people who accompany us in this celebration.” This International Day of Prayer continues to be the basis for the themes for our celebrations.

We are seeking wetland aficionados to be trained to monitor amphibians and/or birds (prior experience not necessary) and who are willing to spend about 10 hours per year as a volunteer monitor of a local wetland.
Learn the techniques used in the nationally-recognized Marsh Monitoring Program from the folks who coordinate it!
Help advance the study and protection of marshes in YOUR watershed.
Are you already a participant? Then come out to meet the MMP staff, and review your survey technique.

CREC invites you to attend

and other interested parties the opportunity to review the project layout, results of the ESP, and general planning constraints, as well as to provide
comments regarding responsible development of the wind resource at Wolfe Island to the project team.
The Public Open Houses are scheduled for:
When: March 27, 2007

57 Highway 95, Wolfe Island
Time: 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

(“CREC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Hydro Developers, Inc. (“Canadian Hydro”), is proposing to develop a wind plant on Wolfe Island,
in the Township of Frontenac Islands, near Kingston, Ontario. Canadian Hydro is passionate about building a sustainable future, and with eighteen plants in operation, is recognized as one of Canada’s premier independent developers of
EcoLogo certified low-impact renewable energy facilities (www.canhydro.com).
The Wolfe Island Wind Project will consist of 86, 2.3 megawatt (“MW”) wind turbines, strategically placed throughout the western portion of Wolfe Island and will generate approximately 198 megawatts of renewable energy. Key ancillary features on Wolfe Island include access roads, a transformer station, collector and transmission lines, and an operations and maintenance building.
Electricity generated by the Project will be transmitted by a submarine cable across the “Lower Gap” between Wolfe Island and Kingston, where it will be connected by underground transmission line to the provincial grid.
Interconnection and a new switching station to facilitate the interconnection with the provincial grid will be located adjacent to Hydro One Networks Inc.’s existing Gardiners Transformer Station.
CREC has retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. (“Stantec”) to complete the Environmental Screening Process (“ESP”) for a Category B Project, as required under Ontario Regulation 116/01 of the Environmental Assessment Act.
The ESP is described in the Ontario Ministry of the Environment’s Guide to Environmental Assessment Requirements for Electricity Projects, March 2001.
In accordance with the ESP, CREC initially undertook a Screening of the Project. However, during the Screening, CREC voluntarily elevated the Project
to an Environmental Review in response to the more detailed studies and assessment undertaken for the Project. Stantec is therefore preparing an
Environmental Review Report to assist with the environmental and planning aspects of the project. CREC and Stantec are also in the process of working
with federal authorities to ensure the project fulfills applicable federal permits and approvals as well as the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
Public Open Houses are being held, and stakeholder input collected, as part of the above-noted regulatory processes.
Stakeholder participation is an important component of the ESP. In order to ensure that the appropriate environmental protection measures are
incorporated into the project design, your input and questions are encouraged. To provide the study team with your comments, or for further
information, please visit us at www.wolfeislandwind.com or call Stantec collect at (519) 836-6050. Written comments can also be sent to:
