Pitch In Day on Wolfe Island May 3rd

The St. Lawrence Women’s Institute is organizing

Pitch In Day on Wolfe Island
on Saturday May 3rd from 10 am-12 noon

All this in an effort to clean up the roadsides on the island.
Lunch will be served at the
Community Centre Grounds Building at noon

Many residents will be contacted to Pitch In
You are encouraged to volunteer on that day to help in the cleanup
The Township will provide gloves and bags available at the Township Garage during the week. Take note that with gloves and bags available you can begin to Pitch-In anytime.
Any funding derived from bottles collected will be used by the Institute to defray expenses.

More About Exciting SEEDY SATURDAY

Seedy Saturday,
May 3rd from 11 to 3
at the WI Community Hall.
It will be an opportunity to swap seed, plants, transplants and tree seedlings and sale. There will be presentations, live entertainment, kids entertainment prepared by aspiring chefs from St. Lawrence College.
Don’t forget to bring your labelled seeds and plants, especially if they are unique to Wolfe Island.

Special guests will include representatives from seed companies,
Food Down the Road, Kate Green from USC of Canada, Queen’s
biology conservation folks, and presentations: Seed Saving with Jennifer Hutson, Organic Gardening with Tom Manley of Homestead Organics, Women & Community Seed Banks in India. The Paddling Puppeteers of Peterborough will be there and more.
