Take Note:When you spot red sails in Barretts Bay that day, it is the Black Angus, previously owned by the late Angus Mowat. It was a common sight in the Bay of Quinte in the 1970s. Known as the Mowat Boat, the Black Angus was donated to the (Kingston) Marine Museum. Over four years it was restored by volunteers and will sail in the regatta as part of its “sea trials.”

The wood vessel was built at the west end of Prince Edward County around 1909 as a double ended, clinker built fishing boat and later adapted for pleasure sailing.
