COG Gerrie Baker’s Organic Greenhouse and the Worm Factory

Gerrie is a self proclaimed “worms’ rights advocate”, but wants to focus her
energies on education programs for youth regarding earthworms and vermicomposting.
Therefore, this tour has two objectives: 1- to observe the benefits of building soil through structured worm composting and growing organic crops year round in this large, innovative greenhouse; 2- to explore immediate business opportunities being offered by Gerrie. To describe events during the years 1954 - 1959
When her home town of Moulinette disappeared forever under the
waters of the St. Lawrence River!

at Wolfe Island United Church

Jane will speak about the destruction and inundation of the former
villages of Mill Roches, Moulinette, Dickenson’s Landing, Wales,
Farron’s Point, Aultsville, Maple Grove, Woodlands and Santa Cruz,
She will also talk about how these villages are remembered today, at the
Museum sight at Ingleside, Ontario.

”The Great Floods of 1958” and the im pact of the St. Lawrence Seway is
a Wolfe Island Historical Society, 2009 Speaker’s Series Event.

The Corn MAZE, cut out of a 10 acre corn field, with numerous dead ends and confusing wrap around trails is
Open daily from 10:00 am to dusk.
Reservations are required for Flashlight Nights and large groups.
