Frontenac Sustainable Tourism Workshop

The Frontenac Sustainable Tourism Workshop will be held

Tuesday, Feb. 15
9am to 2:30pm
County of Frontenac offices

located at 2069 Battersea Road (Hwy 11), Glenburnie.
This workshop is a partnership between the County of Frontenac (www.frontenaccounty.ca) and the Frontenac Arch Biosphere (www.fabr.ca).

This workshop is targeted towards businesses in the tourism sector and those interested in it. There will be two speakers discussing sustainable tourism, one from a global perspective, and the other from a Canadian perspective.

The workshop is free and participants can register with

and to explore the opportunities.

has been changed out of respect for
Judy Smitten, a board member and friend
who passed away suddenly.

The Wolfe Island United Church is holding their annual

Garage and Bake Sale
Saturday, February 19th
from 9:00am to 2:00pm
at the United Church hall.

We are currently looking for donations in support of this event. Items can be dropped off or arranged to be picked up.
Please call Marianne Walker at 613-385-1998. Baked goods should be brought to the church prior to 9:00am on Saturday, February 19th.

Council On Aging Wed, Feb, 23rd

The provincial government recently released the Rural and Northern Health
Care Report. The Council on Aging and the Wolfe Island Women's Institute wanted ourcommunity to have input because we are both rural and remote.

Taste of Wolfe Island AGM

Taste of Wolfe Island
is holding their Annual General Meeting on

Thursday, February 24th at 6pm.

All are welcome to attend the meeting for an evening of local food tastings prepared by the producers, socializing, discussion, 2011 membership registration and election of 2011 Board Members.

Come out to hear about 2011 projects, share ideas and offer feedback.

** Event is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Pykeview Meadows Farm store. Details to be confirmed after the 14th. **

BOOM Learn to Sail 2011 dates announced

The Ontario Sailing Association's BOOM Learn to Sail summer day camp is returning to Wolfe Island for another fun summer of sailing.

The session dates are:
July 18-22, 2011
August 15-19, 2011.

The BOOM program teaches children, between the ages of 8 and 14, the basics of sailing using the Canadian Yachting Association's White Sail Level 1, 2, and 3 standards.
The program is intended to give participants a fun introduction to the sport of sailing, and give them an opportunity to develop their sailing skills.
